Ahoy, Sailor!

So, after finishing my first year at university, I'm finally back in The Netherlands for my summer holiday! When I go back, I love comparing the two cultures (yes, there is a difference!). For example, I love how Dutch fashion is different from the English; Dutch fashion is less daring, but still quite stylish. The British love taking risks, the Dutch less so. Anyway, whilst walking through town today I saw these shorts and fell in love with them immediately! The funny thing about them is that I cannot imagine Dutch girls wearing them; they're quite short and also quite 'different', but maybe a lot has changed in the year I have been gone! But, I've been looking for some navy type shorts for ages, and these are great for summer (plus I love the high waist). I've combined them with my gladiator sandals and H&M top.

Buy of the week: Topshop Dress

Unfortunately not in the sale, but still absolutely adorable! I know I might risk repeating myself (with my obvious love for lace), but in defence to the aforementioned claim, I just have to point out that there is so much more to that dress than just the lace! First of all: look at that peter pan collar; it makes the dress stand out so much more in between all those plain, predictable neck lines. Personally, I also think it adds a little more masculinity to the dress, which means it isn't too girly. Secondly, I love the print and the three quarter sleeves; this dress would be perfect for a summery, but breezy day. I can just imagine it being worn with one's hair worn up/tied into a cute pony tail, high heels, and some statement jewelry. Coco Rocha for VOGUE's 'Today I'm wearing..'

Every month a different celebrity shows off their wardrobe by showing what they're wearing for every day of the month; and after some big names like Daisy Lowe and Olivia Palermo, the torch was handed over to the lovely Coco Rocha! I'm extremely excited about this choice, because I personally think she's such an amazing model and a great inspiration. It's only been the second day so far, but I like what I'm seeing! I love how those shorts and that dress are from Topshop; it makes you feel so much better about your own wardrobe (Who needs Chanel? We've got Topshop!).

Day 1: 'Hello VOGUE.COM! Today I'm wearing a top from Neu Store, Topshop shorts, Aldo shoes and vintage sunglasses.'

Day 2: 'Today I have on a Topshop dress and men's jacket (borrowed from my husband, James) with Aldo shoes, vintage sunglasses and a purse I found at a vintage fair in Australia.'

New H&M pre-fall collection!

Lately, I haven't been that impressed with H&M and their clothes. But I have to say, I'm loving this new pre-fall collection. H&M describes their new collection as: 'Parisian chic and old-school glamour', and it is definitely something of my taste! I've picked out a few of my favourite pieces, just to show you how amazing it really looks!

First of all: Those shorts! So incredibly cute! And for 25 euros (around 20 pounds) not that bad at all! Personally I'm a very very big fan of lace, but so far I didn't manage to find any lace shorts....something I'll probably buy? I think so! Furthermore, that blazer with a poodle print is really cute! What do you think of the first outfit?

I'm absolutely in love with Boho! I love the style; it seems quite laid back and looks effortlessly cool. That is also why the second outfit is also one of my favourites! I love the cardigan, even though it reminds me of something which has been in last year's Topshop collection. Also, I love how they've combined multiple prints and colours! Very daring, but it works.

Everything about this outfit is just right. The dress, the cardigan, those ankle boots and to make it a little more edgy, the big hairband and other accessories. Very cute but still a little daring. I'm in love with those ankle boots and am considering to buy them...What do you think of the third outfit?
